Context

Universidad de Santiago de Chile (USACH), one of the country's most important academic institutions, once again trusted EVoting to run a process that is key to its institutional life: the 2026–2030 rectorship election. This experience builds on the one carried out in 2022, consolidating its confidence in our platform.

Challenge

The main challenge was to guarantee maximum security and transparency in the election, given the scale and prestige of the institution. It was also crucial to effectively integrate in-person voting with electronic voting to ensure the accessibility and legitimacy of the process.

Solution

The election was held in a hybrid format, combining electronic voting with in-person stations where voters could cast their ballots with the support of the EVoting team. Our support covered both rounds of the process, from the draw for the order of candidates on the ballot to the count and the generation of the subsequent documents, using its electronic voting platform.

Results

The runoff reached 2,130 votes cast out of an electorate of 2,916 voters. This result reinforces USACH's trust in EVoting's technology, after having used the platform previously in 2022 for a similar process.
