Chilean Chamber of Construction
One of Chile's most influential trade associations held its general assembly in a hybrid format, resolving a complex multi-proxy representation system and reaching unprecedented participation.
Context
The Chilean Chamber of Construction (CChC) is one of Chile's most influential trade institutions, bringing together companies and professionals in the sector. Its role is fundamental to promoting the development of the industry and the country, which requires robust governance and decision-making processes that reflect the will of its members.
Challenge
The CChC faced significant complexity in managing its assemblies, stemming from a particular representation algorithm: a single person could represent multiple members, and in turn a member could be represented by several people. This created a considerable challenge for accreditation and vote counting to ensure the legitimacy of the process.
Solution
EVoting enabled a hybrid assembly for the CChC, combining in-person accreditation of participants with digital voting. The implementation relied on its Meetings & Assemblies platform, designed for collective decision-making in in-person, virtual or mixed formats, applying the EVoting 3.0 methodology that prioritises security and transparency.
Results
The solution allowed the CChC to reach a historic participation record, with 1,500 people attending the assembly. The hybrid management simplified the complexity of the representation system, guaranteeing the integrity of every vote and the transparency of the process.
