The 27 Ordinary Shareholders' Meetings hosted by EVoting's EHolders platform during April were a highlight of the month for the company. In addition, the current situation of electronic democracy in Latin America and its advantages were discussed.

The first four-month period of the year came to an end and, with it, the deadline for holding Ordinary Shareholders’ Meetings, a season in which EVoting played a leading role by carrying out nearly 30 processes. At the same time, the company talked with different entities about the importance of technology in democracy and the role of EVoting in this matter.

EVOTING CLOSED A SUCCESSFUL SEASON OF SHAREHOLDER MEETINGS

EVoting had a busy closing season of Ordinary Shareholders’ Meetings. During April alone, 27 of these processes were carried out with the EHolders platform, reaching a total of 29 in the year, in 3 countries of the region. This is complemented by the more than 200 subjects voted on and the 2700 participants.

“It has been a great year for EHolders; clients were satisfied with the performance of the platform and with the accompaniment throughout the process”, stated Nicole Molina, Assistant Manager of EVoting’s Meetings and Assemblies.

“IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO IMPLEMENT TECHNOLOGY IN ALL PHASES OF THE ELECTORAL SYSTEM”.

Transparencia Electoral is an organization that seeks to promote democratic values, mostly in Latin America, and is dedicated to the analysis of electoral issues. Its Director of Institutional Development, Jesús Delgado, talked to EVoting, analyzing the current situation of democracy in the region and how technology can contribute to its development.

“I believe that technology has a lot to contribute to the electoral issue, it has improved it a lot, but it is also true that there are still some countries that have resisted a little to technological advances and I think the world is going in that direction”, said Delgado.

“EVOTING ALLOWS FOR GREATER EASE OF PARTICIPATION FOR ALL PARTNERS.”

Since 2018, there are four processes that The National Association of Officials of the National Cultural Heritage Service -or Anfupatrimonio- has carried out with EVoting. Óscar Blanco, member of the organization’s Election Qualifying Tribunal, referred to his experience with the platform.

“It is a mechanism that allows a greater facility for the participation of all the associates; it implies a better logistics when it is done by electronic means, facilitating the process and also with a saving of cost and work”, emphasized the interviewee, on the advantages of the processes carried out with the EVoting platform.
