It could be said November reflects the variety of fronts of Evoting’s increasing activity. On one hand, the first fortnight was marked by the Araucania’s consultation, in the south of Chile, the first of its kind in the area, which convened with more than 145.000 votes. “When we talk about modern democracy and active citizen participation, I think these are the tools we have to use”, said Araucanía governor Luciano Rivas. In the middle of the month, in San José de Costa Rica, Tomás Barros, General Manager, together with Gabriela Tijerino, commercial manager in Central America and Laura Gonzales, project analyst, gave the go-ahead to the commercial office in Costa Rica. “Taking this step is very exciting; although we have several processes in Costa Rica and Central America, to formalize the office is an expression of long efforts”, said Barros. The month ended with two major assemblies in Mexico, where EVoting’s platforms have had a growing acceptance. These are the encounters of Mexico’s Internet Association and the Mexican Urology Partnership. “Mexico is a great challenge, because of the size, culture and ways of organization, and we have been generating a trusted network with our clients”, said Eduardo Cáceres, EVoting’s Meeting and Assemblies Manager.
As the icing on the cake, November finished with 90 electronic votings, by far the historic milestone of the company. Felipe Lorca, Voting Manager, remembered the 63 votings celebrated in the previous month, by that time the highest milestone in electronic processes of 2021 so far. “I have always known that this is a growing market, but I never imagined that it would grow at this pace”, he said.
