On May 22, but in 2014, the company EVoting conducted its first vote. This process was carried out for the Medical College and more than one thousand votes were received.
There are already close to 4,000 processes that have been carried out with the different EVoting platforms and exactly 10 years ago the company’s first vote was held with a Board of Directors Election to the Medical College.
“In 2014 we started a path that did not exist in Chile, breaking prejudices and the natural resistance to change,” mentioned Tomás Barros, Founding Partner of the Chilean company.
Today, EVoting is recognized as a leading company in e-democracy worldwide, confirming it when in 2023 it received the Tech4Democracy Global award, an award given by IE University, promoted by the U.S. State Department, which recognizes startups that strengthen democracy in the world.
This is in addition to the experience with more than a thousand clients from 10 countries, who have also praised the performance of its platforms.
“The process was carried out very well; the need for attention, changes, everything that happened afterwards was carried out in a very harmonious way with the satisfaction of the voters, which is the most important thing,” said César Vásquez, General Director of the Association of Mining Engineers, Metallurgists and Geologists of Mexico.
“It gives a lot of assurance to have a platform where we have guaranteed authentication on the one hand (…) and, subsequently, the peace of mind that there is no possibility of altering the vote or that no one can intervene in that vote,” said René Lardinois, Attorney of the Chilean Chamber of Construction.
