The Biobío Region agrees on the construction of a new regional brand together with EParticipation, Vivatech 2023 was held, where EVoting was present and daily democracy continues to rise.
The first half of 2023 has passed and in EVoting everyday democracy becomes the protagonist. The Biobío Region held a new Citizen Consultation for the creation of the regional brand and EParticipation has already hosted 73 processes. In addition, EVoting arrived at VivaTech 2023, the most important technology meeting in Europe.
Residents from all the municipalities of the Biobío Region participated in the citizen consultation for the creation of the new regional brand.
From May 31 to June 7, the Citizen Consultation “PonteBío” was held, which sought to give the region’s neighbors a say in the construction of the new regional brand. More than 8,556 people participated in the process, belonging to the 33 communes that form the Biobío Region, being Concepción the one that agglomerated the largest number with more than 1,700 votes. “Consulting the citizens is very important and EVoting assures us that it is an open consultation, which works in a safe, serious, responsible way, with online results, with full respect for the privacy of personal data”, said Rodrigo Díaz, Regional Governor, once the scrutiny was completed.
EVoting attended VivaTech 2023 in Paris
As winners of the Tropheé Startup, an initiative organized by the French Embassy in Chile, Business France and Inria Chile, EVoting attended VivaTech 2023, the most important technological meeting in Europe.
“We are very happy, because France is a very attractive market for EVoting due to its maturity in the regulation and adoption of electronic voting, with a high valuation of privacy, which allows us to offer a differentiating product,” mentioned Tomás Barros, Founding Partner and General Manager of EVoting, who attended the event.
In addition to the Chilean company, the event was attended by prominent political, business and technological personalities. Emmanuel Macron, President of France; Elon Musk, CEO of Twitter, Tesla and SpaceX; Marc Benioff, CEO Salesforce; among others.

Everyday democracy continues to grow
It is becoming increasingly essential for local governments to consult their citizens when making decisions. In this sense, more than 1.6 million votes have already been received in the 73 processes that have been carried out with EVoting’s EParticipation. In addition, 20% of Chilean municipalities have trusted the service, which seeks to continue growing and promoting the participation of people throughout the world.
