EVOTING IS 7 YEARS OLD AND OPENS UP TO THE WORLD

“We believe in Democracy, that is, the decision-making system where majorities rule through free and secret vote. When traditional institutions are questioned, we believe that we can have a better democracy by applying information technologies, exercising what we at EVoting call Electronic Democracy”.

This is how José M. Piquer, Founding Partner and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVoting, expresses himself in his invitation to learn about #7YearsEVoting through the company’s recently published Institutional Report.

The text addresses the company’s development in different areas, with the labor area being one of the most important. In its seven years of existence, EVoting has carried out more than 800 union votes, such as board elections, collective bargaining, bylaw reform, incorporation and constitution of federations, processes regulated by the Chilean Labor Directorate. The figures exhibited in the document show that, between 2013 and 2020, EVoting carried out a total of 1,422 electronic processes, of which 1,212 were votes and 210 assemblies. Likewise, in these 7 years, the company worked with 600 clients, received almost 1,900,000 votes in its ballots, and approved nearly 1,300 matters in its meetings and assemblies. (Read more here)

For Tomás Barros, General Manager, the company has shown that it offers “a concrete space for democratic exercise, which no one else covers and which society needs”.
