More than 3,000 members of this group of the Chilean Medical Association were called to vote remotely on the EVoting platform.
The grouping, which brings together physicians who perform healthcare, community and management tasks throughout Chile, elected for the first time its new board of directors through remote electronic voting.
Valentina García, national vice-president of the Agrupación de Médicos Generales de Zona, said that it was “an excellent experience, a great change that has managed to democratize our entire group, thanks to electronic voting, I think it has been a fundamental change for us”,
He added that “the voting process was very agile, fast, very expeditious, we have members spread all over Chile, from Visviri to Puerto Williams, and this vote had a very important national extension”, added García.
For the group of doctors, formed in 1955, having this new form of democratic election is key to their development, given the special conditions of geographical dispersion that characterizes them. “For us as a group, it is the only way we have to hold a vote. Thanks to this electronic voting method, we can make our group democratic,” concluded the MGZ Vice President.
